Kristen Linnenburger

Board President

Kristen Linnenburger is a Trustee with the Long Grove Fire Protection District (LGFPD) who was sworn in on February 17, 2020 and was also elected as President of the Board of Trustees. She is a resident of unincorporated Long Grove and has lived in the LGFPD service area since 2001 with her husband of 19 years and two children. Trustee Linnenburger currently teaches seventh grade social studies in Buffalo Grove, and her husband teaches physics at Stevenson High School. During her spare time, she attends and assists with her two childrens’ sporting events. Trustee Linnenburger is also looking forward to her new venture serving as a trustee and board of trustees president.

Jim Spearman


Jim Spearman is a trustee with the Long Grove Fire Protection District. Trustee Spearman was sworn-in on May 14, 2020. Originally from Pittsburgh, he and his wife of 23 years became residents of Long Grove in 2013. Trustee Spearman has two adult daughters who both graduated from Stevenson High School. One works and lives in Manhattan, and the other is a student at UIC. Trustee Spearman is a former CEO of a private-equity healthcare company and spent almost 11 years with GE Healthcare in Waukesha, WI. He currently is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Operating Officer of Rockland Technimed, a biopharma company based in New Jersey. In Trustee Spearman’s spare time, he has worked as a part-time sworn police officer since 2004 (serving in three police departments in Illinois and one in Colorado). He also enjoys running, swimming, hunting, fishing, weightlifting, boating, great food, and time with family. Trustee Spearman looks forward to his new endeavor with the Fire District.

Valerie Vogt Pape


Valerie Vogt Pape is a Trustee with the Long Grove Fire Protection District (LGFPD) who was sworn in on February 17, 2020. Originally from Iowa, she is currently a resident of Kildeer and has lived in the LGFPD service area with her husband of 41 years, since October 1988. She currently is an affiliate instructor at Bradley University specializing in leadership, human resources, risk management, and is an executive coach. Trustee Pape previously worked for Kemper Insurance in Long Grove. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, swimming and spending time with her beagles. Trustee Pape is looking forward to her new endeavor on the LGFPD board of trustees.
